I recently had a issue with my dell PowerEdge server were there was a fault memory module detected. So I turned the server off and on, powered it off for 15 minutes, none which worked. So I decided to clean the module. I powered off the server, pulled out the power cables, opened the case and used a eraser to clean the gold contacts “rubbing them” after I did this for a few minutes and put the memory module back in everything worked. I cant guarantee it will work every time but sometimes it does.
