This blog is a walk through for upgrading vidm 3.3.6 to 3.3.7 using vrslcm.

First check your vrslcm version supports vidm 3.3.7 from the interoperability page

Next check your upgrade from vidm 3.3.6 to 3.3.7 is supported from the interoperability page (click upgrade path)

If vidm 3.3.7 is not listed like below check the upgrade doco for vidm 3.3.7

You can see that vidm 3.3.6 to 3.3.7 is supported directly

Next download the vidm 3.3.7 upgrade package

Next is to copy the package onto your vrslcm server

I am using winscp for the file transfer and I have created a folder structure in the data folder /binaries/OVA

Login to vrslcm, click lifecycle operations, click settings, click binary mapping

Click add binaries

Click local, type in the path you put your package in, click discover, select your package and click add

Once completed, click environments, click view details under the vidm icon

Click upgrade

Click I ensured cluster health and click trigger inventory sync

Click proceed once completed

Select your vidm product version and click next

Click take product snapshot and click next

Click run precheck

Click I took care of the manual steps if asked and click run precheck

Fix any issues, if all fixed click next

Click submit

Done

you can see the version change below
